Marina di Pisa is a beach that is located just 11 kilometers from Pisa. It can be reached along the Arno River via Viale D’Annunzio.

The beach area is well equipped and suitable for families with children. The built-up barrier of large boulders cuts the waves and protects against strong currents, so swimming is safe here. Pine forests stretch along the coast, smal groves can be seen. Beaches are more compact closer to the south.
The main local beach is rocky, although you can find places with sand, but those are in paid areas. It divides into two parts: one is designed for a relaxing holiday with the family, while the other one is for young people; life there boils even in the latest hours of the night. The last part has many bars and discos for noisy pastime.
When is it better to go
In terms of climate, the period from May to October is the most favorable for visiting Italy. The air and water temperature becomes ideal for a classic beach holiday, followed by a trip to the coast of Italy. However, it is necessary to remember that a long summer with the scorching sun, warm sea and pleasant sea breeze attracts crowds of tourists.
