Beach description
The water near Hukodden shore is amazingly clean, despite the proximity to the metropolis. The coziest part of 500 m beach zone (right behind the nudist beach) is called Paradisbukta (Paradise Bay). Here the pebbles give way to sand, the gentle entrance to the water allows novice swimmers and children to swim.
At guests' service:
- changing booths,
- showers,
- bio-toilets,
- beach restaurant with ice-cream and drinks,
- barbecue zone.
During winter month Hukodden is opened for cycling. To get to the beach from Norwegian capital city is extremely easy by bus or fairy, which will take only a few minutes.
In the nearby park are two local attractions: statue of Icarus (1965) and sculpture Great Arch (1963-1969). No photoshoot is complete without them. Tourists are also attracted by paved walking paths passing through the forest and along the shore. From the furthest part of the park the fantastic Oslofjorden view can be seen.
When is it better to go
The most suitable time for a beach recreation in Norway is the beginning of summer. In the country of fjords from June to July the sun shines almost around the clock. In the southern resorts, the air temperature warms up to + 17-23 °C. May and September will be a great alternative to the summer months, when the weather is still warm, but there are fewer tourists. Arriving in Norway in the winter, you can significantly save on tickets and hotel accommodation, and at the same time see the northern lights.
