Beach description

The sandy beach area is adjacent to free parking and public toilets. For trekking lovers there is convenient boardwalk. Vigdel water area is a shallow bay, so it's ideal for families with children. In summer tourists can swim, sunbathe and play beach volleyball. The walk along the shore will allow to see historical sights, built during the World War II bunkers.

The surrounding hills offer breathtaking views of the vast expanses of the North sea and intricately carved shores with sand dunes.

Going south, along the coastline of Vigdel, by the Sele harbour, tourists can come to neighbouring Borestranden beach. It's considered to be the most beautiful areas in the country. There are several places for surfing. However, only high-class athletes can cope with the powerful sea streams. In Borestranden Camping guests can eat and spend a night.

When is it better to go

The most suitable time for a beach recreation in Norway is the beginning of summer. In the country of fjords from June to July the sun shines almost around the clock. In the southern resorts, the air temperature warms up to + 17-23 °C. May and September will be a great alternative to the summer months, when the weather is still warm, but there are fewer tourists. Arriving in Norway in the winter, you can significantly save on tickets and hotel accommodation, and at the same time see the northern lights.
