Beach description
The best Uttakleiv Beach views can be seen from the mountain Mannen. From all Lofoten Island's beaches the Uttakleiv Beach is the most unusual. Creamy white sand, green grass, emerald-hued water and tides polished silver stones on the rocky shore attract photographers from all over the world.
The landscape jewel of Lofoten is easily accessible to visitors. It will take 20 min by car to get to the beach from Leknes, not wasting time for walking. Convenient parking is waiting for guests near the beach.
Summer is a perfect time for camping. Several huge boulders can be used as tables for picnic. The advantage of visiting the Uttakleiv Beach during the off-season is that the landscape jewel will be all yours.
When is it better to go
The most suitable time for a beach recreation in Norway is the beginning of summer. In the country of fjords from June to July the sun shines almost around the clock. In the southern resorts, the air temperature warms up to + 17-23 °C. May and September will be a great alternative to the summer months, when the weather is still warm, but there are fewer tourists. Arriving in Norway in the winter, you can significantly save on tickets and hotel accommodation, and at the same time see the northern lights.
