You can appreciate the beauty of the conservation area from the coastal hills. A 16th-century Franciscan monastery, the lush greenery of a national park, the snow-white sandy zone of the beach and the blue mirror of the harbor will appear before your eyes. You might even see dolphins swimming in the sea.
The water wealth of Portinho da Arrabida, as well as its magnificent ridges, drowning in forests, are protected by the state. Catching fish and other inhabitants of the bottom - sea snails, stars, sea anemones, octopuses is illegal here. Visitors and vacationers will have to limit themselves to photo or video hunting.
Inexpensive dishes of fresh seafood and valuable fish will be served for guests in the beach restaurants. On the beach there are kiosks with drinks and ice cream, rental boats and beach umbrellas, several parking lots. It takes only 45-50 minutes to get here by car from Lisbon.
When is it better to go
The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
