Torre beach

The beach is no more than 270 metres, located next to the XVI century Fort of San Julian da Barra, which serves as summer residence of Portuguese Ministry of defense, and it is located in its department. Torre has excellent infrastructure and well-groomed territory. There are sunbeds, umbrellas, showers and toilets. There is a bar in the old car on the shore. There is a restaurant with a terrace nearby. The descent is smooth and the bottom is sandy. The water, which is under National water Institute control, is perfectly clean. The ocean on this tiny stretch of the Lisbon Riviera is calm.

Torre is one of the best swimming beaches on the Lisbon Riviera. It is comfortable to relax with children, because the territory is protected from the winds and waves. The season is crowded, especially on weekends. Tourists come from Lisbon and all surrounding resorts. There are many Portuguese and tourists.

Behind the pier there is the harbor, where is an interesting monument as a whale tail located. Attractions lovers will not be able to enter the territory of San Julian fort. The Ministry of Defense made the fortress almost impregnable.

When is it better to go

The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
