São Pedro beach

The narrow coastline is covered with fine light sand. In the western part of the beach there is a strip is bounded by a rock formation that cuts into the ocean at 160 m, on the other side there is a breakwater. The descent is smooth and the bottom is sandy. There are shallow and deep areas. Large boulders are located in clear water at the short distance from the shore. The ocean, clamped on both sides, is relatively calm. It's often windy on the shore.

There is a shower, paid sunbeds and umbrellas, rescue services, medical center, bar, restaurant on San-Pedro. Wheelchair ramps is available. There is a windsurfing school. There is a boats and motorboats marina. You can rent swimming vehicle for walks along the shore and diving. On San Pedro, you can swim, sunbathe, surf, scuba diving, parasailing, snorkeling and diving. There is always crowded. There are locals and tourists among the vacationers. There are many young people, families with children and elderly. San-Pedro was repeatedly awarded the Blue flag.

When is it better to go

The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
