Beach description

The coast, covered with fine sand is bounded on one side by the cape and on the other - by the pier. The descent is smooth and the bottom is sandy. Here is quite shallow. There are no high waves due to the long pier on both sides of the beach. There sunbeds and umbrellas rent. Showers and toilets are installed. There is a lot of restaurants, cafes, bars nearby. Along the beach there is a promenade with picturesque recreation areas, sculptures, bike paths, playgrounds, simulators and plenty of entertainment venues. You can walk along it to the Devil's Mouth, one of the most impressive sights of the Lisbon Riviera.

Riberia is not comfortable for swimming, however, it is always crowded. Among the visitors there are especially many local children who gladly splash in the shallow waters. After long walks around the city and surrounding area tourists often have a rest here.

When is it better to go

The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
