Kiselev Rock beach

Residents of Tuapse and the surrounding areas are fond of visiting the renowned tourist destination, Kiselev Rock. Situated to the northwest of Tuapse, it lies adjacent to Cape Kadosh on one side and is bordered by the mouth of the Agoy River on the other. The artist A. A. Kiselev was once inspired to capture the local scenery. The iconic scenes from "The Diamond Arm" were filmed here in 1968. Today, well-marked tourist trails weave across the rocks, and ship excursions are available at the foothills, offering visitors a unique way to experience the area's natural splendor.

Beach description

Hikers approach Kiselev Rock beach by bus or car, before completing a portion of the journey on foot. Those arriving by boat can dock directly on the shore to savor a brief respite in this serene locale.

Swimming at Kiselev Rock beach can be an exhilarating challenge due to its rocky terrain. In inclement weather, visitors may find themselves isolated, adding to the adventure. The area is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, thrilling mountain trails, and the joy of diving with a mask and flippers. For many, capturing a selfie atop the surrounding cliffs is a highlight of their visit.

To witness the sunrise at Kiselev Rock beach is a special experience for those camping on the sands or for those who prefer the comfort of a wooden walkway at a nearby campsite, which includes facilities for motorists. However, the downtown area lacks infrastructure, so visitors must bring their own water. Nearby attractions include the Myshinyye Nory Rock and a secluded beach that caters to nude sunbathing.

When is the best time to visit?

The Black Sea coast of Russia is a popular destination for beach vacations, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and recreational activities. To make the most of your visit, timing is key. Here's when you should consider planning your trip:

  • Summer Season (Late June to Early September): The best time to visit the Black Sea coast for a beach vacation is during the summer months. This period promises warm weather, with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 30°C, making it ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying water sports.
  • Peak Tourist Period (July and August): While these months offer the warmest weather, they are also the busiest. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, consider visiting in late June or early September when the weather is still pleasant, but the crowds have thinned.
  • Off-Peak Season: For those who don't mind cooler temperatures and are interested in avoiding the peak season rush, May and late September can be great options. The sea might be too cold for swimming, but the scenic beauty and lower prices can make for a rewarding experience.
