English Bay beach

English Bay is a beach located in a secluded bay near the West End of British Columbia, in the heart of Vancouver. The resort is known for its picturesque sunset views, clean beach, transparent water and gentle sun.

Beach description

The ocean is clear, warm in summer. English Bay is artificial, white sand was brought on the territory in 1898, today the beach is very popular and crowded.

Tourists have fun on pleasure boats, play volleyball, frisbee, ride bicycles, rollers, longboards. Plenty of room to sunbathe, do sports, jogging or a full training session. On the horizon, you can notice big ships, the tankers. There are locker rooms, beach houses, many shops, restaurants, cafes, parking lots. The pathways are paved with dwarf palm trees growing along them.

Many people come to the beach to sunbathe and have a picnic. People of all ages with different interests spend their holidays here – a great beach to make a new acquaintance. In the summer, numerous festivals take place on the territory of English Bay:

  • Pride Parade,
  • two-week fireworks festival,
  • Polar Bear is a New Year's swim dedicated to polar bears and many others.

When is it better to go
