Sunset beach

Sunset is a cozy beach at the mouth of the False Creek Bay, next to the famous crossroad of Thurlow Street and Bute Street. This is one of the most popular West End resorts in Vancouver. The coast is visited by tourists from Canada and other countries.

Beach description

The water on the beach is clear, transparent. Sometimes there are waves and gusty winds, so the beach attracts surfers. Sunset Beach is suitable for recreation with friends, children, the whole family. The beach infrastructure is represented by numerous restaurants, cafes, showers, toilets and locker rooms; a lot of stalls with souvenirs, products, necessary equipment for swimming and comfortable rest on the beach. The coast has paved tracks for riding on rollers, bicycles, longboards, segways. There are a lot of tourists in summer, the water temperature is up to +20 degrees Celsius. The safety of holidaymakers is monitored by experienced lifeguards. In the morning and in the evening, there are a lot of travelers doing sports on the shore. There are vacationers with animals. Lots of entertainment establishments: bars, nightclubs, rental centers of floating crafts and equipment for swimming, many portable attractions.

When is it better to go

Winters are cold – in the south +4 degrees, in the north to -35. Precipitation is up to 1250 mm per year in the north and up to 2500 on the coast of the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean.
