Anchor Bay is characterized by good waves, smooth range of depth, strong and warm wind. Local waters are 100% transparent, bottom is covered with soft sand. There are no roads near the beach, major cities and industries. Which provides clean air and calm atmosphere.
There is no infrastructure on the territory of Anchor Bay. Tourists have to take food and drinks with them. There are 2 camping centres 500 metres from the beach. There are toilets, shops, cafes, showers and electricity sources on their territory.
Flora and fauna of Anchor Bay is protected by the New Zealand government. Fishing, litter, burn fires are not allowed on territory of Anchor Bay. But you can surf, swim, sunbathe. This place is popular among surfers, families with children, young people. There are a lot of people on weekends.
Beach is located in the north of New Zealand, 9 km Southeast of the village of Omaha. You can get by taxi or private car. There is parking lot capacity is 30 cars near Anchor Bay.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to travel to New Zealand is December-January, the local summer. Despite the warming, the temperature rarely exceeds 30 degrees, so relaxing on the beach here is very comfortable.
