Beach description

El Cabo San Juan Beach is recognizable for its unique ecosystem. The beach in Tayrona National Park is divided by Sierra Nevada into two beaches that reflect each other and open a fantastic view of the sunset over the mountain. The entry to the water is gentle, and the bottom is clean, despite the fact that large stones are located in the water and on the shore. By the way, local residents believe that the places, where such stones are located, are sacred and endowed with healing properties.

The sea in this part of Colombia is calm without high waves. This beach is open to visit all year round. A large concentration of holidaymakers is rarely on this beach. Due to the fact that entrance to Tayrona National Park is paid, it is impossible to visit the beach for free. Getting to El Cabo San Juan is easy, so families with children often choose holidays on this beach.

When is it better to go?

The best time to visit Colombia is from December to April, when the weather is relatively warm and the rains are replaced by the dry season.  It should be borne in mind that the coast is always hotter than in the highlands, for example, in the capital Bogota.
