Manzanillo beach
Manzanillo beach is a long, three hundred meter wide beach that is located in a picturesque and quiet bay along the southeastern coast of the Caribbean Colombian mountain island of Providencia. Untouched by mass tourism, Providencia managed to maintain the charisma of past centuries when pirates looted in the Caribbean. The most famous pirate of this sea, captain Henry Morgan, used the island as a refuge to plan his attacks on the Spanish galleons.

Beach description
The water in this part of the Caribbean is a dazzling turquoise color. The bottom is clean, and the water is clear. The beach cover consists of light yellow and gray sand with a soft texture in overcast conditions. The sea on this beach is calm. Its location in the bay prevents winds and high waves. Manzanillo beach is the largest bay on the island and is considered to be one of Colombia's most beautiful beaches. It got its name from the shady Manzanillo trees along the coast.
Manzanillo beach is not suitable for water sports, this place is ideal to enjoy the amazing view in the shade of palm trees, while the warm waves create an amazing melody of the sea. But diving and snorkelling enthusiasts are happy to get acquainted with the underwater world of this beach. Manzanillo beach is not usually crowded with vacationers, so the rest in this part of Colombia is quiet and comfortable.
When is it better to go?
The best time to visit Colombia is from December to April, when the weather is relatively warm and the rains are replaced by the dry season. It should be borne in mind that the coast is always hotter than in the highlands, for example, in the capital Bogota.
