Beach description
The main landmark and local attraction – Fort Bekal, erected in 1650, is located in the center of a long and wide sand strip stretching for several kilometers. The entrance to the sea is gentle, the bottom is sandy. The water is clean, the waves are low. The place is quite wild and deserted. There is no infrastructure, except for one expensive hotel complex. For a comfortable stay on Bekal beach, it is advisable to bring towels, umbrellas, snorkeling or diving equipment, food and drinks. On the coast, you can park anywhere, at the water's edge or under palm trees, to pitch a tent. The beach is suitable for swimming, but you need to be especially vigilant, since there are no lifeguards.
In the vicinity of Bekal beach, tourist infrastructure is just beginning to develop. Some areas are fenced for the construction of hotel complexes. It is worth visiting the old fort, open for excursions.
