Kappad beach
Kappad is a beach in the fishing village of the same name on the Malabar coast of Kerala. You can get to Cappadon by bus, taxi or rented car from Kozhikode.

Beach description
The picturesque coastline, surrounded by cliffs and dense tropical thickets, is covered with reddish sand. The entrance to the sea is shallow, the bottom is sandy-rocky, the water is clear and clean. The sea is quite calm, but Cappad is not the most suitable place for swimming due to underwater currents. There is a danger of breaking on coastal cliffs. It is comfortable to relax with your family, meditate, play beach volleyball and football, do yoga and have picnics. There are several restaurants where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas.
The beach is uncrowded. The company is a few visitors are local fishermen, sailing or returning to the shore, and cows. It is ill-advised to drive them away.
Cappad Beach is a historic place where in 1498 the Portuguese navigator and discoverer Vasco da Gama landed with a crew. In honor of this event, a memorial stone is installed on the beach. A cliff rises above the shore, the peak of which is decorated with an ancient temple. Ayurvedic complex is located near the beach.
When is it better to go
The best time to spend holidays on the beaches of India – is from November to March.
