Beach description
The beach does not have good infrastructure and is not suitable for swimming. The coast looks rather messy, although it is considered a sacred place of the supreme deity, the patron saint of the city. Near the beach there is a restaurant with parking, an Ayurvedic center and a children's park. There are annual motorcycle races in the area of the beach.
Within a 5-minute drive from Shangumugham, there are magnificent Trivandram temples, the most important of which is Padmanabhaswami Temple. The main shrine of the temple is a giant statue of Vishnu inlaid with gold and precious stones on a thousand-headed snake in the pose of mystical sleep Anananthasayanam.
