Poda island beach

The island is a high rock formation up to 230 metres high, covered with dense tropical vegetation. There is a strip of white sandy beach at the foot of the cliffs. In the north there is a comfortable and wide beach area with convenient gentle sea descent and sandy bottom. Boats with tourists and floating mobile kitchens sail to this part of the island. There are places for changing, toilets, devices for washing hands and feet, bars with a fairly limited range. It can be crowded here. The beach is suitable for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling and diving. It is better not to take children with you, because it is difficult to find a place for a quiet holiday with a child.

The shore narrows on the southern side of the island. The surface is covered with stones. There are a lot of sharp debris in the water. Swimming is almost impossible. Solitude adherents prefer to stay there.

The beach is very popular among unusual landscapes fans and climbers. Only trained climbers can reach the top of the island. It is better to go to Poda in the morning or after 4 pm. There is no place to spend the night on the island.

When is it better to go

The beaches of the province of Krabi are located in the southernmost region of the country, in a tropical climate zone. The best time for a journey is from November to April. This period is characterized by a stable temperature of air and water – about + 30 °C, smooth sea, lack of precipitation and harsh winds.
