Baie Rouge beach

Not far from the city of Marigot, on the south-west coast of Saint-Martin, lies Beau Rouge beach, strewn with light and soft sand.

Beach description

Not big, but strikingly picturesque bay of Baie Rouge invites vacationers to enjoy the idyllic scenery. From here you can admire the elongated silhouette of the neighboring island of Anguilla for a long time. However, a stream surrounded by cliffs, where local and migratory birds like to nest, is considered a visiting card of the area. Among them you can see a bullfinch, and a blue heron, and an osprey.

Baie Rouge waters are protected from the strong influence of the Atlantic Ocean and are the best suited for snorkeling. Sometimes there are strong flows, so tourists with children should be alert. It should also be borne in mind that closer to the western part of the beach you can meet nudists.

Baie Rouge is equipped with a restaurant and snack bar. For visitors looking for a secluded place in the shade, chairs and parasols are provided. If you are going to take a walk along the beach, be sure to check out the “Dyavolskaya Dyra" or Devil's Hole - a local attraction. Your imagination will surely be struck by a deep dark abyss in the middle of a steep cliff filled with water.

When is it better to go

The island of Saint-Martin is characterized by warm and dry weather all year round. July and August are considered the hottest months (average air temperature reaches + 32 °C). You can have a vacation in this Caribbean canton all year round, however, the high season falls on the period from December to April.
