Beach description

It is forbidden to swim here, it can be dangerous. But the beach is worth visiting the cape is surrounded by a ring of reefs, hit with the powerful waves of the Indian Ocean. Only here, in Gris Gris, you can admire the ocean in its beauty. This is a natural landmark of the area, where a special atmosphere reigns all year round with a primitive landscape unusual for Mauritius. Crushing waves wash ashore every minute. “Weeping Rock” is the second name of the cape.

The coast is rocky, the nature is picturesque, the landscape is magnificent. Tthere are hotels, cafes, a palm grove in the direction of the Souillac town.
Lush grass grows around the perimeter, the cape rises by 42 meters above sea level and ends with a steep bank. The wind is constantly blowing here, so the growing low shrubs take an unnatural appearance. There are many rocks in the water, the current and surf are very strong. Even though it is forbidden to swim, there are always a lot of visitors on the beach: local residents and tourists from all over the world. Near the cape vacationers have picnics and walk along the sandy strip.
