La Preneuse beach

La Preneuse is a quiet, cozy and not crowded resort for a relaxing holiday, located in a small bay a couple of kilometers from the city of the same name. Wedding ceremonies are often held here, and there are many private villas in the vicinity.

Beach description

The beach is covered with snow-white fine sand, the slope is smooth and the water is shallow. The ocean is calm, the water has a turquoise hue. There are strong currents from time to time. La Preneuse Beach is spacious and wide, so there is enough space for all vacationers. The scenery on the beach is breathtaking: from the coast you can overlook the high Mount Le Morne above the turquoise lagoon.

The beach is located on the west coast of Mauritius. For tourists there are several hotels of different comfort levels. There are cafes, stores and souvenir shops with various goods near the coast. The local attraction is the Martello Tower, built by the British in the 1830s, who protected the territory from the French fleet. Now it is a museum where information about the history of the area and the first planters is stored. The famous freshwater Black River flows on the beach. Yachts and boats drift on the open sea, you can take one to go on a sea trip.

When is it better to go

Mauritius – is an island of volcanic origin, on the territory of which a humid tropical climate reigns. The best time for tourism  – is the Mauritian summer, which continues from September to March. During this period, the air warms up to +31 degrees, at night – up to +23 degrees. In the central part of the island, the air temperature is a couple of degrees lower than off the coast of the ocean. It rains all year, more precipitation falls from December to April.
