Le Morne beach

Le Morne is the best beach on the southwest coast of Mauritius. The coastline is wide and long, the resort is not crowded.

The beach is cleaned daily and it is suitable for lazy relaxation, it is comfortable to sunbathe and swim on the coast. The slope is flat, the water deepens slowly. The landscape of the peninsula is on the UNESCO list. Tourism infrastructure is developed at the highest level. There are many luxury hotels, restaurants, apartments, guest houses with rooms of different levels of comfort on the shore. You can get to Le Morne Beach by bus or taxi.
Local activities are organized by 5-star hotels:

  • kitesurfing (strong winds often blow in the area)
  • diving (there is a large reef with many exotic inhabitants parallel to the coastline)

When is it better to go

Mauritius – is an island of volcanic origin, on the territory of which a humid tropical climate reigns. The best time for tourism  – is the Mauritian summer, which continues from September to March. During this period, the air warms up to +31 degrees, at night – up to +23 degrees. In the central part of the island, the air temperature is a couple of degrees lower than off the coast of the ocean. It rains all year, more precipitation falls from December to April.

In the village of Le Morne, curious travelers will learn about the history of slavery on the island, a settlement was created specifically for freed slaves. The main attraction is Le Morne Brabant Mountain, the name of which served as the name for the entire peninsula. Travel agencies organize hiking tours to the mountain on various routes.
