Golden Sand beach

The coast looks like long (3500 m long and 300 m wide) crescent covered with golden soft sand. There is a very convenient entry into the seawater, without a sharp increase in depth and stones at the bottom. The entrance to Golden Sand is free. It is perfect for a relaxing holiday on the coast and for sports activities. It's very crowded during the peak season.

There are changing stalls, showers, possibility to rent gazebos and picnic tables. There are dozens of kiosks with traditional food and drinks. You can also buy beach accessories and souvenirs on the beach. There are several large hotels in the immediate vicinity and at a distance of 4-5 km from the beach.

Many interesting objects are located in Qingdao (about 10-15 km from the beach):

• Aquarium;
• Xiaoyushan Park;
• St. Michael’s Cathedral.

When is it better to go

China, with its vast coastline, offers a plethora of beautiful beaches that are perfect for a vacation. The best time to visit China for a beach vacation largely depends on the specific coastal region you plan to visit. However, there are general guidelines that can help you decide when to pack your swimwear and sunscreen.

• Hainan Island: Known as China's tropical paradise, Hainan Island is best visited from October to April. During these months, the weather is warm but not excessively hot, and the water temperatures are comfortable for swimming.
• Shandong Peninsula: For beaches along the Shandong Peninsula, including the famous Qingdao city, the ideal time is the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and the sea breezes are refreshing.
• Guangdong Province: The beaches in Guangdong are best enjoyed from October to December, when the humidity drops and the temperatures are mild, making for a pleasant beach experience.

Regardless of the destination, it's important to avoid the peak of summer, as the heat can be intense, and the Chinese national holidays, particularly the first week of October and the Lunar New Year, when beaches can be overcrowded.
