Qingdao №1 Beach

The beach has been given its first place for a reason; it is a local landmark and is the most visited in Qingdao. It's a nice place to spend time in any season. In summer, the coast is particularly popular.

Beach description

The beach is considered "the first" not only because of the good conditions for recreation, but also because of its impressive size - the total area of the coast is 3.5 hectares. It is located in a large green bay, on the shore of Huiquan Bay. The coast is covered with fine pure sand, the sea here is transparent and calm. There are no big waves on the beach, as the surrounding mountains protect the shore from the wind.

At the turn of the 20th-21st centuries, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out on the beach, which significantly increased the comfort level of the beach. Now Qingdao №1 Beach is an attractive and convenient place for both active and quiet rest.

When is it better to go

China, with its vast coastline, offers a plethora of beautiful beaches that are perfect for a vacation. The best time to visit China for a beach vacation largely depends on the specific coastal region you plan to visit. However, there are general guidelines that can help you decide when to pack your swimwear and sunscreen.

  • Hainan Island: Known as China's tropical paradise, Hainan Island is best visited from October to April. During these months, the weather is warm but not excessively hot, and the water temperatures are comfortable for swimming.
  • Shandong Peninsula: For beaches along the Shandong Peninsula, including the famous Qingdao city, the ideal time is the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and the sea breezes are refreshing.
  • Guangdong Province: The beaches in Guangdong are best enjoyed from October to December, when the humidity drops and the temperatures are mild, making for a pleasant beach experience.

Regardless of the destination, it's important to avoid the peak of summer, as the heat can be intense, and the Chinese national holidays, particularly the first week of October and the Lunar New Year, when beaches can be overcrowded.
