Petit Sperone Beach is located in a fantastically beautiful secluded place, near Bonifacio. As in any paradise, there are no special amenities, although there are calm ripples of clear turquoise waters, lots of sun and white silk sand.

Beach description
To get to the Petit Sperone Beach, you have to head southeast from Bonifacio. You'll have to leave the car at Piantarella Beach. After about 15-20 minutes, you get to the beaches of Sperona. The closest one is the Petit Sperone. After him, if you cross another cape, you'll get to Grand Sperone. The longer you walk, the more deserted the coast will be.
It's the natural beauty and absence of crowd that attracts the fans of Petit Sperone. If you get here with young children, it may seem tiresome, but a small cozy beach surrounded by low rocks and fresh greenery will conquer those who like calm and warm water and the absence of urban attributes during the vacation.
There are no amenities here, only a narrow strip of beach, transparent water and yachts on the horizon. We recommend to bring a backpack with everything you might need: bedding, sandwiches, drinking water, sunscreen and so on.
Features of the beach:
- sandy, shallow, with well-heated water;
- perfect place for romantic couples;
- suitable for safe swimming, snorkeling (there are inhabitants and vegetation for the closest study in fantastically transparent water);
- between Petit Sperone and Grand Sperone there's an excellent golf course with perfect green surfaces and no winds;
- there's a club for fans of horse riding, but it's in Bonifacio.
When is the best time to go?
It is possible to relax in France at any time of the year, the time of the trip depends more on your preferences. Summer - a great time to travel to the sea. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, even on the southern French Riviera is not hot weather. In winter , people go to ski resorts in France. It should be be mindful that in summer and winter in France there is a high season, respectively, prices soar. To enjoy the excursions, choose the time from February to April or from September to November, when both in the north and in the south it is not very crowded. Infrastructure
There are no houses, toilets or shops either on or near the beach. You'll have to choose a place for rest and overnight stay in the nearest city, which has all the infrastructure.
Not too far from the strait, there's a hotel Santateresa, 3*. It functions in a mansion of the 19th century, whose terraces offer spectacular views of the strait and neighboring Sardinia. The apartments are equipped according to the latest standards, there is a large parking lot, from here you can easily reach any sight or beach. Breakfast is served on the terrace, there is a bar. Perfect place for all categories of tourists, including travelers with children. Young couples looking for romance especially appreciated living here.
Not far from the Sperone Golf Club, you can rent one of the villas with a plot of about 2 ha and an excellent location in relation to the city and beaches, beautiful views of the islands of Lavezzi.
The most popular cafes and restaurants are situated closer to the promenade. You'll find pasta, gnocchi and soup in any of them. The central place is occupied by seafood. Don't forget about the local sausage, ham and wine. Many dishes and pastries are made with the use of chestnuts. The unique taste of meat products is mostly explained by the fact that animals also “stick to” a chestnut diet with the addition of local herbs.
Shopping in the city is not recommended, because the prices are quite high and absolutely unjustified. Commercial cynicism is not typical for Corsica, but, alas, it's present in popular resort areas.

- Even remote beaches like Petit Sperone can be crowded in August. This is explained by its proximity to Bonifacio. Besides, you should take care of booking the hotel, shuttle pick-up from the airport, car rental in advance. Campsites are also crowded during the peak season.
- If it's possible to plan a trip here in advance, you should arrive early, before the arrival of most bus excursions by 10.00 am.
- There's often no cash at the only local ATM.
- Nightlife is low. Fot real entertainment you need to go to Porto-Vecchio.
- During the day you should visit:
- The Citadel;
- caves that can be accessed only from the sea;
- Lavezzi islands;
- aquarium at Marina Port;
- cemeteries and religious sites in the rocks;
- Bastia, Ajaccio, Calvi.
- In the off-season, the area of Petit Sperone Beach cools down pretty good due to cool winds. And in summer it's so hot that by midday you have strength only to lie on the beach and cool off in the sea. That's why you should plan your excursions and movements in the early morning. In May and October it's already a real summer, but the sea is not yet warmed up enough in spring. Otherwise, it's a great time to relax, no summer fuss, prices are much lower.
