Beach description
Muros is a beautiful beach which is situated 15 km southeast from Hora and only 3 km away from the small village of Kamari. You can use a scheduled bus, a car, or a motorcycle to get there. You'll have to use the path both from the station and the parking lot. Hiking will take 10 minutes maximum. For the several recent years, the beach popularity increased, which was caused by repair: an asphalt road, instead of the earth one, leads to the beach. The way still has many twists but they are safe, and views accompanying the trip are just impressing.
The beach area is not that large, it is surrounded with high white rocks washed by crystal clear waters of the bay. The main feature of Muros is the magnetic turquoise color of its water. The water entry is smooth but in some cases, problematic. Due to mountain landscape, the sea bottom is partially covered with pebbles and large stones.
The beach is covered with fine gray pebbles partially mixed with light yellow sand. Rock formations scattered throughout the beach are attractive for eyes, they make this place unique, being the reminder of soleness of the nature. behind the rocks, there are two small caves where you can swim and engage in snorkeling.
Contrary to Agia Anna, this place is popular among families with kids. This place is also loved by extreme recreation fans who dream to explore mysterious caves near Muros beach.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

One of the disadvantages of Muros is the lack of hotels near the beach. The nearest accommodation is located in the village of Kamari. One of the popular hotels is Dioskouri Art Villas. The beautiful and comfortable hotel is equipped with its own parking, restaurant, bar, and pool. The balconies of the rooms offer incredible views of the Aegean Sea. In addition to classic rooms, the hotel rents apartments.
Muros beach became especially popular after the repair and expansion of the road to it, it also stimulated the development of routes that run through a stop on the beach.
Muros beach is not equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers, rental of beach and sports equipment is also not provided. But unlike many beaches, spread among the cliffs, you can go down the stairs to the sea. Despite the fact that descent and ascent require some strength, they are absolutely safe.
The beach infrastructure is modest but comfortable for a good rest next to nature untouched by human:
- Free parking for cars and motorbikes located next to the beach access;
- A tavern with friendly staff is located to the left of the parking lot. The assortment is dominated by light snacks and cold drinks.
An incredible view opens onto the Aegean Sea and the cozy Muros beach from this point. Vacationers are attracted by several large cliffs near the coast, from which you can dive into the sea, which is not recommended for beginners.

In the summer, Mouros is popular, therefore, in order to avoid crowds of vacationers, it is better to come to the beach in the morning, because closer to noon you can comfortably stay near the sea.
