Manganari beach
Manganari Beach consists of several sandy bays separated by cliffs. It is famous for its soft golden sand, crystal clear waters, lush vegetation. From its shore, a beautiful view of the Greek islands, huge rocks, tourist ships. This place is located 23 km from Chora (the capital of the island of Ios). It is located in a quiet area with excellent ecology and a minimum of tourists.

Due to the presence of high waves, underground currents and depth drops, Manganari is perfect for children and swimming novices. Another advantage of this beach is its flawless cleanliness that was singled out with several Blue Flag awards. The beach has its special symbol: goat herds depasturing on neighboring meadows. Important to note: don't approach them just for fun: animals can be aggressive.
On the territory of Manganari, one can find taverns with Greek and continental cuisine. It is equipped with deck chairs, water closets, changing cabins. Water transport rent, bar, and sun umbrellas are situated on the beach. There are a couple of hotels, food and souvenir stores, and a beautiful church nearby. In order to get to the beach, travelers take bus from Hora or Milopotas, boat from the port, private car, or taxi. Early morning is the best time for visiting this place.

When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
