Agia Irini beach

Agia Irini is located in a small bay in the wide Loutra Bay in the northeast of the island, so the beach is reliably protected from winds and waves. The name of the resort comes from the local church dedicated to St. Irina.

Beach description

The beach is rather shallow, sand-covered, so this place is perfect for family recreation. But there are no special conditions or facilities in this beach area because it is non-equipped. There are only several trees able to give shadow to guests on sunny day. Sometimes, the beach territory is used for wedding ceremonies, baptismal ceremonies, and church weddings, and all the requisites can be ordered in the local restaurant or to buy in the nearest stores.

You can get to the beach by water, by road, by car, or by motorcycle. At strong wind, sea way can be complicated, and in this case, you can walk down the special pedestrian road. Fortunately, views here are majestic: a beautiful view of fishermans boats, like they were lashed to the coat on purpose, for filming some movie scene.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
