Agios Dimitrios beach
Agios Dimitrios is not only a beach, but also a popular resort in the west of the island. The wide and rather long sandy coastal zone is combined with clear water and rocky hills on both sides of the beach. At the same time, descent into the water is quite convenient: the shore is flat, the bottom is sandy, and the water does not become sharply deep, so it is very comfortable with children here. However, the coast offers ample opportunities for swimming adults, as well as for observing the underwater world when diving.

There are green plants along the beach, and you can not only hide from heat on a summer day there, but also hold a picnic in cool shadow. The distance is an obstacle not for everyone, so there are enough tourists here, especially in August, the hottest month of the year. Moreover, a good asphalt road leads to the beach so the way from any corner of the island to this place will be rather easy.
Some tourists prefer visiting Agios Dimitrios during sea tours over the island because neighboring beaches have more well-developed infrastructure. The beach is also suitable for romantic sunset observation with the wonderful flavor of lilies, moreover, the resort area has hotels and cafes, so there is a place to spend a night or to make a light meal, enjoying local food.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
