Gaidouromantra beach

Gaidouromantra Beach is located on the south coast of the island of Kithnos. This is a pretty secluded place, since there is almost never a large crowd of people, even despite the sandy beach and crystal clear waters.

Beach description

In order to get to Gaiduromantr, you need to cross a rather complicated site of earth-road, and then to go down the concrete stairs. Moreover, the beach has no recreation facilities, only a couple of cozy small houses for rent. That is why you need to take food, water and all the necessary equipment from home.

From two sides, the beach is surrounded by rocky areas, and trees able to give shadow to their guests are situated along the perimeter. This makes the beach suitable both for quiet pastime away from city fuss and for snorkeling. Moreover, a small chapel of Agia Sotira is located on the hill nearby. From its walls, you will see the magnificent beach panorama, and you will be so impressed that you will run down as fast as you can.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
