Kipos beach

Kipos Beach is a picturesque wild beach on the northern outskirts of Samotraki, which is considered one of the best on this Greek island. People come here for the secluded relaxation and unforgettable diving. An asphalt road is laid to the beach, so it is becoming increasingly popular among vacationers. But it’s never crowded.

Beach description

The shingly coastline of Kipos is wide and long (about 2 km). The beach is conditionally divided into 2 parts: a more secluded territory, beloved by nudists, and a site near boulders on the coast, where families with children stay.

Sea water is perfectly pure and clear, which attracts divers and snorkelers to Kipos. On the coast and at the bottom of the sea it is possible to see here unusual black shingle. To enter the water it is better to grab rubber slippers. Although the beach is partially protected by cliffs, there are often winds. Despite the remoteness from civilization and the lack of rental of any equipment for rest (there are not even sunbeds), there are several coastal taverns on the coastline of Kipos.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
