Vatos beach
Vatos Beach is the most picturesque, but not crowded due to the inaccessibility of Samotraki beach, which is worth visiting when traveling on this island. It is located east of the more popular among vacationers Pachia Ammos. Vatos is the second beach after it on the island, the coast of which is covered with clean fine sand, in contrast to the stony-pebble covering prevailing here. But on the seabed, the sand here is also mixed with pebbles.

The Vatos beach attracts with its pure waters and picturesque views of the surroundings, that surround the coast by numerous high cliffs and secluded coastal caves, where rare monk seals meet. This incredibly beautiful coast is deprived of signs of the presence of civilization; people come here for solitude. For the most comfortable stay it is necessary to take everything necessary (from food to equipment and sunbeds).
Is not easy to get to the coastline of Vatos. On foot it is possible to walk along a difficult rocky path, but in order not to get lost it will be necessary to use the services of a local guide. It is better to choose the marine version of the way, ordering a boat excursion from Kamariotis or from the nearest beach of Terme. In the neighborhood of Vatos (to the east of it) it is definitely worth admiring the Kremasto waterfall, whose waters fall into the sea from a height of 400 m. It is also possible to get to it exclusively by sea.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
