Carilo beach
Carilo is a distinct resort area within Pinamar, situated in the city's southern part. Nestled directly on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, it lies approximately 350 kilometers from Buenos Aires, accessible by road. The beach at the resort unfurls for several kilometers, forming part of an expansive stretch of sand along the ocean. While there are no marked boundaries, one can roughly delineate its limits by noting the locations of hotels and resorts that dot the coastline.

Beach description
Welcome to the serene Carilo Beach, a coastal gem nestled in Argentina, where the sun-kissed sands invite you to a tranquil escape. As you plan your beach vacation, let us whisk you away to this picturesque destination with a guide that will enhance your experience.
The beach itself may share similarities in hue and texture with the public beach along the Pinamar resort, yet it holds its unique charm. The sand is very fine, reminiscent of flour or sugar, creating a soft bed beneath your feet. In certain areas, particularly near some hotels, you may find coarser grains of sand, brought in for construction purposes. These patches are characterized by a yellowish tint, contrasting with the predominantly white, white-gray, or occasionally, dirty gray shades of the natural sands. Pebbles are a rare sight here, and the occasional large stones you might encounter are often shells or boulders, introduced from distant locales.
The water at Carilo Beach is a captivating, saturated bright blue, inviting you to dive into its depths. The seabed slopes gently, allowing swimmers to wade comfortably before reaching deeper waters, which begin abruptly around 100 meters from the shore. While the area close to the beach is free from swift currents, making it safe for swimming, the waves are a constant presence, varying in intensity throughout the year.
When is the best time to visit?
Argentina, with its extensive coastline, offers a delightful beach vacation experience. The best time to visit for a beach holiday is during the Argentinian summer, which spans from December to February. During these months, the weather is warm and sunny, perfect for enjoying the sandy shores and crystal-clear waters.
- December: The beginning of the summer season is ideal for those looking to partake in the vibrant festivities and enjoy the opening of the beach resorts.
- January: This is the peak of the summer, with the warmest temperatures. It's the most popular time for tourists, so expect crowded beaches and a lively atmosphere.
- February: The end of the summer still offers excellent beach weather, with the added benefit of fewer crowds as the holiday season winds down.
Regardless of the month you choose, Argentina's beaches, such as those in Mar del Plata or Pinamar, provide a beautiful setting for relaxation and fun in the sun. Just remember to book accommodations in advance, especially if you're planning to visit during the peak season in January.

Infrastructure
The resort area of Carilo was specifically designed as a cluster of hotels. Staff reside in nearby areas such as Balneario Ostende or Pinamar. In Carilo, there are numerous complexes, as well as several supermarkets along the pedestrian-friendly Divisadero Avenue, which is part of the federal highway that extends from the capital to the south.
Accommodations are comprised of small buildings, as well as separate bungalows with one or two floors. It is rare to find buildings with a greater number of stories. From a bird's-eye view, the entire area may appear as one large green canopy - trees envelop nearly everything and tower over most structures. This verdant landscape provides shade in the sweltering heat and serves as a barrier against the strong Atlantic winds.
Hotel prices in the area vary significantly. The cost is influenced not by the proximity to the sea, but by the availability of additional amenities, such as playgrounds, games, and the comfort and privacy of the rooms. For a convenient and affordable option, the Carilo Soleil Apart Hotel is recommended. Its rooms are situated both within the property and with direct sea views, offering a delightful vista. The latter are priced similarly - around $73-76 per night per adult.
