El Doradillo beach
El Doradillo Beach is the premier destination in Argentina for whale watching from June to December, and dolphin watching from September to mid-December. Additionally, visitors can observe elephant seals and sea lions on this beach throughout the year. To maximize your experience with the Atlantic's marine life, it is advisable to visit during low tide, when the chances of encountering these magnificent creatures are significantly higher. Keep an ear out for the distinctive, resonant calls emanating from the ocean and keep an eye on the water for noticeable splashes - sure signs that the ocean's inhabitants are at play.

Beach description
The El Doradillo Beach is located 10 km north of Puerto Madryn, where colonies of Patagonian penguins, listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site, can occasionally be encountered. The white beaches of El Doradillo are covered in grainy sand, while the sea bottom is mostly adorned with small, flat pebbles. Children are advised to wear slippers in the water. The water in this part of Argentina can be cold; waves are a rarity, but tides are frequent.
The sunrise, which turns the sky and the sea into stunning shades of orange and red, is especially beautiful at El Doradillo. The best views are to be had from the long pier at El Doradillo.
When is the best time to go?
Argentina, with its extensive coastline, offers a delightful beach vacation experience. The best time to visit for a beach holiday is during the Argentinian summer, which spans from December to February. During these months, the weather is warm and sunny, perfect for enjoying the sandy shores and crystal-clear waters.
- December: The beginning of the summer season is ideal for those looking to partake in the vibrant festivities and enjoy the opening of the beach resorts.
- January: This is the peak of the summer, with the warmest temperatures. It's the most popular time for tourists, so expect crowded beaches and a lively atmosphere.
- February: The end of the summer still offers excellent beach weather, with the added benefit of fewer crowds as the holiday season winds down.
Regardless of the month you choose, Argentina's beaches, such as those in Mar del Plata or Pinamar, provide a beautiful setting for relaxation and fun in the sun. Just remember to book accommodations in advance, especially if you're planning to visit during the peak season in January.
