Correntoso Lake beach
Correntoso Lake Beach is a picturesque lakeside beach. The beach area is surrounded by green trees and rocky peaks of the Andes. Correntoso Lake is located 5 km from the small Argentinean town of Villa La Angostura in Neuquen Province.

Beach description
Calm and clear emerald water makes it perfect for swimming. Light gray volcanic sand covers the beach and the sea bottom. The descent is smooth and the waters are shallow, seaweed however can be encountered at the bottom. The water is typically warm, but never warmer than 22 degrees.
Lake Nahuel Huapi and river Correntoso are located near the lake. Correntoso is famous for its trout that inhabits the river mouth, but it's prohibited to catch it here. Fishing is allowed at the river head or at the lakes Correntoso and Nahuel Huapi.
The Correntoso Beach is usually not crowded. The entry is free. Correntoso Lake Beach is a beautiful specimen where families with children, active tourists and ecotourists often stay. Correntoso Lake Beach has developed a number of water sports: canoe riding, windsurfing, kayaking, boat riding (with speed limits) etc. A camping spot is also designated near the coniferous trees at the beach.
When is the best time to go?
Since Argentina is located in the southern hemisphere, winter and summer change places, so the most favorable time for visiting beach resorts is from November to May.
