Pinamar beach

Pinamar is a small resort town where a huge number of tourists from the capital of the country come in the warm season. It is located on the Atlantic coast about three hundred kilometers from Buenos Aires and about a hundred kilometers north of another popular resort in the country - Mar del Plata.

Beach description

This part of the shoreline is a giant sand promenade. The sand forms a wide line that stretches for about 80 km. The beach begins in the north, far from town. And ends about 40 km in the south. Between the town below it and another settlement at the shore, Villa Gesell, is a small desert - about 3 km long and 1,5 km wide. This place has a lot of dry channels which rain water inhabits during rainy seasons.

The sand is uniform across the whole beach and is colored dirty white, with many various gray shades. Tide waves and a strong surf of the ocean are frequent guests of this beach which is why sand more or less always is under the aggressive influence of the water. Because of that the sand is grainy almost everywhere. It's the kind of sand you'll need to get out of your shoes and clothes multiple times while on your way back to the hotel.

Some parts of Pinamar are called their own unique name. There is, for example, Rada Beach near the north of the town. But none of them are unique in nature and pretty similar to one another. They're all similarly clean as well, as the open public beaches far from the hotels and cafes are regularly cleaned. Garbage bins are located at every step.

The sea near the beach is high, with the Atlantic Ocean beginning very nearby. But it's not very deep here. You can easily swim with children even 10 m away from the shore. Truly deep waters along with underwater currents begin to appear about 100 m away from the shore.

When is the best time to go?

Since Argentina is located in the southern hemisphere, winter and summer change places, so the most favorable time for visiting beach resorts is from November to May.

Infrastructure

Pinamar is a resort town. It has very few high-rise buildings and structures. The entire settlement is divided into various neighborhoods that are full of greenery and small neat houses. Some of them are family hotels or simply separate guest houses, which are designed for a dozen and a half tourists

The city in direct way approaches the beach. There is no usual noisy waterfront promenade. Also, there are no familiar "lines from the sea" with their prestige and cost of living. However, there are enough hotels, cafes, restaurants, scattered almost evenly along the entire beach. There are even two golf courses.

Large hotels are still concentrated in the center of the city, along Jorge Bunhe Avenue, from which the streets depart in a radial style. In general, the cost increases approximately evenly as one approaches the sea.

Useful information

The city has virtually no marine entertainment. There is no pier in the city, and there are practically no possible accumulations of motor boats. The resort primarily offers beach and sea vacations with long walks along the beautiful numerous streets and along the beach itself.

There are benches and sun loungers for relaxation in large numbers in different places right on the largest beach. They may belong to a nearby family household. They receive a small income from this. In any case, Pinamar is one of those resorts where really everyone lacks such places on the sand.
