Montanita beach
Montanita is a small resort located in the West of Ecuador in the village of the same name, known around the world. Today resort is the main surfing center of the whole country. Resort is famous for spectacular scenery, high waves and beautiful sunsets.

5 km long beach line is surrounded by exotic plants and large boulders, which invites you to walk in the fresh air in the evening, in the morning and throughout the day.
Beaches is long and wide, covered with fine golden sand. Water is clean, warm, transparent. Waves are high, long for real professionals, beginners should practice on the other beach. There is a school of surfing for a self-motivated tourists on beach. Those who wish will learn to stand on the board and ride their first waves.
Beach is always crowded, most often surfers come to it. Beach is empty only in bad cool weather. There are more holidaymakers on weekends, in addition to tourists, locals come to the beach. Montanita is a place for young people, family people with children in search of a quiet holiday do not choose this beach.
When is it better to go
In search of a beach holiday, the continental part of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands can be visited all year round; however, the period from December to May will be the best choice, because the water gets warmer and the rainy season softens the enervating heat.

Montanita is a popular village among locals, tourists, so a bus ticket to this village and the beach at the weekend is difficult to get, sometimes even impossible. But prudent private carriers organize additional runs. There are taxis, but this way the most expensive to get to the resort.
