Puerto Lopez beach

Beach line and bottom are covered with fine white sand. Water is crystal clear, blue. Entrance to the ocean is smooth, the beach is shallow. On some parts of beach long waves rise – this is a favorite place for surfers in another part it is calm and quiet. Beach is long, wide – there is enough space for all holidaymakers. Tourists book rooms in hotels on beach and in village. The cheapest room – room rate per night 20 dollars. Get to the beach by bus, taxi, transfer.

There are many interesting places near the village:

• the ruined port from which travelers watch humpback whale games in spring, summer and autumn;
• a park with a dolphin skeleton and a construction in its honor;
• fish market.

Those people who want to spend time actively are engaged in horseback riding, surfing, go on excursions that are offered by numerous tour operators, travel to nearby islands and visit the national park.

When is it better to go

In search of a beach holiday, the continental part of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands can be visited all year round; however, the period from December to May will be the best choice, because the water gets warmer and the rainy season softens the enervating heat.
