Punta Sal beach

The width of the beach strip and its length, golden sand and easy access to the water have made Punta Sal a favorite destination for Peruvians and wealthy tourists. There are expensive and luxurious hotels, which offer first-class infrastructure. It is on the hotel grounds that you can see traditional coastal landscapes with palm trees and green lawns. Prices for housing are high, from $60 to $400 per person per night.

The water in Punta Sal is much warmer than in other places, so the beach is good for family tourists with children. In local waters, according to authorities, there are no sea urchins, different stinging creatures and sharks. In this regards, the most popular of the entertainment became:

• yachting in the ocean, where you can go underwater fishing,
• diving by the reefs
• surfing
• kayaking.

You can get to the beach either by bus, which is at least an hour and a half from Mancora, or by rented car or taxi.

When is it better to go

The high season in Peru begins in February and lasts until April. It is summer in South America at this time. Ocean water warms up to +24˚С. The air temperature sometimes reaches +40˚С, but the winds become stronger. The rest of the time, the ocean water is cool, not higher than +18˚С. If to go for the sake of a beach holiday, you will not find a better time than in our winter months.
