Folkestone beach
Folkestone Beach is a cozy calm beach for family vacations and picnics. It is located on the Caribbean coast, in the district of St. James in the western part of Barbados. You can get to the beach from Bridgetown by bus or car.

Beach description
Golden sand and crystal water attract here not only locals, but also visiting tourists. Visitors of the beach have the opportunity to swim and sunbathe, enjoy riding on catamarans and jet skis, snorkelling, exploring the fauna of an underwater marine reserve. In the bay, at some distance from the coastline there is an artificial reef, formed as a result of a ship, sunk here in the late 70s. Hire a boat with a transparent bottom for diving in the reef area or just a boat trip right on the beach. Here it is possible to rent all the necessary equipment.
Near the beach there is a Marine Park with aquariums and a museum, where exhibits of marine fauna are displayed. A bit further there are basketball pitch and playground, tennis courts, souvenir shops.
Infrastructure of Folkestone Beach offers visitors everything necessary for a relaxing beach rest. There is a rescue service, rental of beach equipment, a parking lot, showers, changing rooms, and toilets here. In addition, on the beach there are picnic tables, benches, canopies.
When is the best time to go?
In Barbados island, the temperature is hot all year round, so the only thing that can ruin your vacation experience is the rainy season in summer. Any other period, the weather in Barbados is sunny and comfortable for all ages.
