Gibbes beach

Gibbes Beach is a cozy deserted beach with a length of about 500 m. It is located on the west coast of Barbados, in the parish of St. James, within walking distance of Mullins Bay Beach. Gibbes Beach is a thin strip of golden sand surrounded on one side by shady trees, and on the other by the Caribbean Sea with crystal clear, calm water. The entrance to the sea is pretty steep in places, so when coming here with children, you need to carefully look after them.

Beach description

The beach is ideal for lovers of secluded rest. Small visitors to the beach are entertained by having picnics and photo sessions, swimming in the sea and sunbathing. Sometimes Gibbes Beach is chosen to stop during boat cruises. Lovers of active beach vacations can do snorkeling and water skiing here. Near the beach there are Holetown and Speightstown, where there are many restaurants, bars and shops.

There are no any conveniences on the beach, so it is necessary to bring food and drinks, when come here. But in the early half of the day on Gibbes Beach there is no problem to find a shadow - it is enough to stay under one of the growing trees. It is possible to get to the beach by car or bus, and then going along the path directly to the beach.

When is the best time to go?

In Barbados island, the temperature is hot all year round, so the only thing that can ruin your vacation experience is the rainy season in summer. Any other period, the weather in Barbados is sunny and comfortable for all ages.
