Beach description
The beach is located in the northern part of Ikaria in the resort area of Armenistis, 48 km northwest of Agios Kirikos, the capital of Ikaria. This is a long sandy beach with a flat shore and bottom. The bay, in which it is located, is surrounded by lush greenery, which creates not only a beautiful landscape, but also a natural shadow. If you go down to the beach from the west side of the path, you will find a secluded small sandy beach in the bay ("Ammoudaki").
This place is especially popular with families with children. The soft sand, gentle shore and shallow water make it an absolutely safe place. Parents may not stand over their children as bodyguards, but relax nearby.
As for the waves and wind, they happen only on certain days. But a gusty squally winds happen very rarely - usually even warm breezes blow here. The waves are also observed on the water surface, so Livadi Beach is considered an ideal place for water sports.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

This is a well-equipped beach, where they care about the comfort of its visitors. This concern begins to appear as soon as you approach the shore - there is a spacious parking lot at the entrance to the beach, so there is enough space for all vacationers who have cars.
In the beach bars you can not only order fresh snacks and soft drinks, but also rent sun loungers, umbrellas, chairs. If you are tired of lounging in the sand, you can rent a kayak in the same bars and go to explore the coast. On windy days (although they are not often) you can go surfing and windsurfing. The necessary equipment for this can also be rented on the beach.
Near the beach there are many rooms and villas that are rented out by local people, as well as hotels where you can book a room in advance. Near the beach is the 3-star hotel Erofili Beach Hotel with two pools (indoor and outdoor), a bar and a conference room. - There are strong currents away from the coast, so if you ride a board or kayak, carefully listen to the instructor's advice. It is difficult for beginners to cope with the pressure of the stream, and they are carried away far from the beach.
- Locals call these places "sleepy village", since many of them really sleep until almost noon, and after 16.00 they leave for a siesta. It lasts until 20.00, and then the peak of activity among the islanders does not subside until two or three in the morning.
