Agios Ioannis beach
Agios Ioannis is a beautiful Lemnos beach, surrounded by picturesque volcanic rocks in the east of the island, near the village of Caspakas. Often it is also called analogously to this settlement. The main name of the beach is associated with the church of St. John located on a rock. You can get here exclusively on a rented car.

Beach description
The sandy coast with fine sand and incredibly clear azure sea waters, surrounded by bizarre dark volcanic cliffs and pistachio groves, gave Agios Ioannis the fame of a great place for a quiet beach rest. The beach is 6 km from the capital and is smaller and wilder, than the beach coastlines, closer to Mirisa. At the same time, it is marked with the Blue Flag and is considered to be one of the best on the island of Lemnos. Pure clear waters and significant shallow water allow to rest here even with small children.
They go to Agios Ioannis for a relaxing rest close to picturesque cliffs and the surrounding hills. There is not too crowded here even during season. A maximum of entertainment and conveniences can be found in the village of Caspakas - the largest on the island. Umbrellas and loungers are available on the coastline itself, there are a beach bar and traditional taverns.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
