Cala Saona beach
Cala Saona is located in a secluded bay of the same name on the west coast of Formentera Island, the distance to the capital San Francisco is 5 km. This is a small, quiet resort on the Balearic archipelago. Territorially, it's located between the bay of Caló d'en Trull and cape of Punta Rasa. It's a reserve zone, and nudism is allowed on the territory. From Cala Saona, you can admire the neighbouring island of Ibiza and the mystical peak of the volcanic mountain of Es Verda. The locals believe that this rock is “the top of sank Atlantis”.

Beach description
The beach is white clear sand, the water is clear, blue. There are red rocks around the perimeter of the Cala Saona. The depth increases smoothly and the bottom is shallow – it's comfortable and safe to spend time with your child. 2 meters is the maximum depth of the sea at 40 meters from the shore. Cala Saona is a long, wide beach, where there is always a place for a large number of tourists, and they don't disturb each other. The average width of the beach is 120 m, length – 140 m. It's a good place for a family vacation. The beach is quiet, peaceful, cozy and comfortable. There are areas for nudists. Cala Saona is popular with young people and families.
You can get to the beach from the hotel by bicycle or on foot. There're many cycling routes and it's possible to rent two-wheeled transport in the hotel – it's common on the island of Fermenter. It's quite easy to get to the beach by car, following the road signs. There is plenty of free parking space in the vicinity of the shore. You can also rent a transfer, take a taxi or take a shuttle bus, which stops 50 metres from the beach.
When is it better to go
The beach season on the coast of Spain falls on the period from May to October. The water and air temperature reaches the most comfortable levels, thereby guaranteeing tourists a perfect vacation.
