Es Cavall d’en Borras beach
Es Cavall d’en Borras (also known as Cala d’en Borrаs) is the closest beach to La Savina harbor, only 2 km away from it. It is limited in size and has an excellent fine white sand coating. Its transparent turquoise waters, shallow descent into the sea and sandy bottom are ideal for lovers of bathing.

From this coastal area, which is part of the Ses Salines protected zone, you can see one of the natural wonders of Formentera - the uninhabited rocky islets of Es Vedra and Es Vedranell, reaching a maximum height of 382 and 128 m respectively. Usually there are a few boats at rest near them. The back of the beach is surrounded by sand dunes bordering a shady pine grove, which stretches to the large salt lagoon of Estany Pudent.
There are two very famous bars on this wild looking beach in Formentera. Every day before sunset, they receive many guests from all over the island for the “puesta de sol”, an ancient ritual of watching the sun disappear into its waters by the seashore.
Es Cavall d'en Borras, which is located between La Savina port and Ses Illetes beach, can be reached by car, following the road signs, or by bus. Some tourists travel on foot or by bicycle on a road that starts from the port and runs along the coast.
When is it better to go
The beach season on the coast of Spain falls on the period from May to October. The water and air temperature reaches the most comfortable levels, thereby guaranteeing tourists a perfect vacation.
