Cala Portinatx beach
A small resort of Portinatx is built on one of the most beautiful parts of the coast and offers fantastic panoramic views and clean sea. Three beaches with fine white sand are especially attractive for families as hotels and food outlets are close by.

Beach description
Cala Portinatx is situated in the northern part of the island. It's nice to admire the sea from a steep shore. It's easy to get there by bus or car, following the signs. There's a ferry running from San Antonio.
All three sandy beaches are comfortable for children and offer different entertainment. They're different in size:
- S'Arenal is the biggest one, located right in front of the bus stop;
- Playa Porto is surrounded by hills covered with stone pines and located at the end of the main street, in a small bay with a lighthouse;
- S'Arenal Petit is the calmest one, hidden behind a ledge of a rock on the left side of the main bay.
Cala Portinatx is a popular tourist destination and a favorite place for fans of snorkeling. Apart from families with children, many young people come here to sunbathe. Some just walk along the shore and take beautiful pictures.
The bottom is sandy, pleasant to the feet. The sea is shallow near the shore, so the water warms up well. The swimming zone is surrounded by buoys, and there're lifeguards watching the order.
When is it better to go
The beach season on the coast of Spain falls on the period from May to October. The water and air temperature reaches the most comfortable levels, thereby guaranteeing tourists a perfect vacation.

Infrastructure
Local entrepreneurs are offering:
- rent a catamaran,
- join a scuba diving school,
- ride a windsurf or kayak.
As this is a territory of the resort town, there're many shops, bars and restaurants. The range of accommodation for families is wide – from inexpensive apartments to large hotels with animators.
