Cala Xarraca beach

The lovely bay of Cala Xarraca with clear water is a popular photographic motif and an ideal place for swimming with a mask and a tube, diving, scuba diving and fishing. It guarantees a secluded, quiet holiday without crowds of tourists and noisy establishments. Unbelievably beautiful views bode for the romantic mood and walks.

Beach description

The beach is 90 m long and 15 m wide, surrounded by incredibly smelling pine forests, and considered to be one of the most remote beaches on the island. Tourists get here by car. It's only a 5-minute drive from Sao Joao and Portinatx. White private houses stand out on a green background. The Puig de sa Xarraca mountain with a height of about 230 m is located nearby. Brutal red cliffs and rocky paths invite you to go a little hike.

Cala Xarraca is divided into three parts. The middle one is the most popular. The other two, located at the ends of the bay and therefore more protected, attract nudists. The sand is in the middle, on the edges – big rocks. The sea is shallow by the shore.

The highlight of this place is the mud bath near the beach. They say that the local mud dissolved in sea water has a curative effect and soothes the skin.

When is the best time to go?

The best time to visit Ibiza for a beach vacation is typically from late May to early October. This period offers the ideal balance of warm weather, sunny days, and a vibrant atmosphere.

  • Late May to June: Early Season - The island is less crowded, and the weather is comfortably warm, perfect for those looking to enjoy a more relaxed vacation.
  • July to August: Peak Season - Expect the hottest weather and the busiest beaches. This is the time for party-goers and sun-worshippers to revel in the island's famous nightlife and daytime beach clubs.
  • September: Post-Peak Season - The crowds begin to thin out, but the weather remains warm. This is a great time for those seeking a balance between a lively atmosphere and the ability to unwind.
  • Early October: End of Season - The closing parties of the big clubs happen, and it's the last chance to enjoy the warm sea before the off-season begins.

Ultimately, the best time for a beach vacation in Ibiza depends on your preferences for weather, crowds, and local events. Consider what you want out of your trip when planning your visit.
