Klong Son beach
Klong Son Beach, the first you'll encounter from the pier at the northernmost tip of the island, nestles in the bay that shares its name. For many years, this stretch of sand remained unnamed, but today it falls under the purview of Siam Royal View's proprietor, who has affectionately dubbed it Chang Noi Beach, a name that now spans its entire length.

Beach description
This small beach is often "overlooked" by those trying to reach the crowded and popular White Sand Beach. As a result, it is primarily frequented by locals - not far from the coast lies a quaint village. Here, one can observe Thais who have lived on the island for generations. Their daily routines have remained largely unchanged: they continue to sleep, eat, drink inexpensive alcohol, and prepare their boats for voyages far into the sea.
The bay itself is quite shallow; to reach deeper waters, one must walk a couple of hundred meters, even during high tide. However, your efforts will be richly rewarded - the bay is teeming with exotic fish, so remember to bring a snorkel and a swimming mask. Such underwater splendor is certainly worth the admiration. Small children will be delighted to frolic in the wet sand and wade in the knee-deep water.
Two uninhabited islands grace the bay - Koh Mapring in the southern part and Koh Chang Noi in the north. Both islands are accessible by renting a kayak. There, just like on Klong Son Beach, you can bask on the sand and swim amongst the fish.
If you prefer a more authentic spot for relaxation, away from tourists and closer to the local culture and customs, Klong Son Beach will suit you perfectly.
When is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit Ko Chang for a beach vacation is during the dry season, which spans from November to February. During these months, the weather is ideal with minimal rainfall, clear skies, and comfortable temperatures that are perfect for beach activities and exploring the island.
- November to February: This is the peak season for tourism due to the excellent weather conditions. The sea is calm, making it great for swimming and water sports. However, it's also the busiest time, so expect more crowds and higher prices.
- March to May: These months mark the transition from the dry to the wet season. The weather is hotter and more humid, but you can still enjoy sunny days on the beach. It's a good time for those looking to avoid the peak season crowds.
- June to October: This is the monsoon season with frequent rains and rougher seas, which may not be ideal for beach activities. However, the island is less crowded, and the lush greenery is at its peak, offering a different kind of beauty.
In conclusion, for the quintessential beach vacation experience in Ko Chang, planning your visit between November and February is highly recommended.

Infrastructure
Beach accommodations are often synonymous with expensive hotels. Upon exiting the pier, the first hotel to greet you is the luxurious Koh Chang Hillside Pool Villa. Conveniently located, it is a mere 35-minute drive from Trat Airport. Guests are welcomed by a beautiful garden, park area, and private pools for each villa. Despite its three-star rating, the Siam Royal View Villas boast exquisitely decorated villas just a few meters from the sea, offering a service on par with that of a luxury hotel. However, availability is limited to just two opulent houses nestled along the picturesque coast. Nestled amidst green hillsides, the four-star The Aiyapura Koh Chang features traditional Thai-style bungalows. Guests can enjoy a plethora of amenities including a free shuttle service, wireless internet, a sauna, and a pool with a sea view. For those looking to impress a loved one or celebrate a honeymoon in a stunning setting with impeccable service, the hotels of Klong Son Beach are unparalleled.
The periphery of the beach lacks diverse infrastructure. Klong Son Village is quaint and tranquil, home to a few Seven-Eleven stores, a construction market, and a couple of cement plants, yet devoid of large supermarkets. Regrettably, for those wishing to purchase traditional Thai souvenirs for their loved ones, a trip south to White Sand Beach is advisable, as souvenir shops are not found in the immediate vicinity.

Klong Son Beach abounds in unusual sights: if you want to have a not dull time, you should go here.
Only in the outskirts of Klong Son there are semi-legal cock-fighting. They are usually attended by locals, who breed roosters on their own - and argue, whose rooster is bigger and stronger. Not far from the coastline there is the Baan Kwan Chang elephant camp - the very first and best on the island. The camp is surrounded by jungle and fruit farms - for an hour on horseback on an elephant this is the most suitable place. Under the supervision of staff it is possible to even feed elephants.
Four hundred meters from the pier there is an active Chinese temple, dedicated to the patron spirit of Koh Chang island - the god-father of Chao Po. Decorated entirely in Chinese style, at first the small temple gradually grew thanks to tourists, who wanted to receive fortune-telling directly from the mouth of the god Chao Po.
There is also a golf course on the territory of one of the hotels, and beach cricket in the courtyard of a nearby bar. Everyone can find something to their taste on Klong Song.
To meet the spiritual needs of orthodox tourists, the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh, opened in 2015, works in the outskirts of the beach.
