Klong Son beach
Klong Son Beach is the first in succession from the pier at the northern top end of the island. It is located in the same-name bay. For a long time, the beach did not have a specific name, but now it is owned by the owner of Siam Royal View, who prefers to call it Chang Noi Beach, along its entire length.

Beach description
This small beach is often "overlooked", trying to get on the crowded and popular White Sand. Therefore, mainly locals rest here - not far from the coast there is a small village. Here it is possible to see Thais, living on the island for generations. Their pastime has not changed much: they still sleep, eat, drink cheap alcohol and prepare boats to sail far into the sea.
The bay itself is very shallow, to go into the depths, you have to walk a couple of hundred meters, even during high tide. But you will be generously rewarded for your efforts - there are a lot of exotic fish in the bay, so do not forget to grab a snorkel and a swimming mask - such beauty is worth admiring. Small children will only be happy to romp in wet sand and knee-deep water.
There are two uninhabited islands in the bay - Koh Mapping in the southern part of the bay and Koh Chang Noi - in the north. Both islands can be reached by a rented kayak. There it is possible, like on Klong Son Beach, to lie on the sand and swim with fish.
If you prefer a more authentic place to rest, away from tourists and closer to the locals, their culture and customs - Klong Son Beach will suit you never better.
When is the best time to go?
The period from November to March is considered the high season in Thailand. Comfortable air temperature, as well as minimal rainfall create optimal conditions for a beach holiday.

Mostly, beach accommodation is represented by expensive hotels. The first hotel, meeting you at the exit from the pier, is a comfortable Koh Chang Hillside Pool Villa. It is the closest to Trat Airport - just a 35-minute drive. Here a beautiful garden and park area and pools at each house are waiting for you. Despite a three star rating, Siam Royal View Villas it offers truly expensive decorated villas a couple of meters from the sea and a service, which compares to the service of a luxury hotel. But the offer is limited: there are only two luxurious houses on the picturesque coast. In a four star The Aiyapura Koh Chang the green hillsides are built up with traditional Thai-style bungalows. Free shuttle service, wireless internet, a sauna, a pool with sea view are just a few of the services this hotel offers. If you want to impress your soulmate or spend a honeymoon in a beautiful place with excellent service, then the hotels of Klong Son Beach will suit never better.
The outskirts of the beach cannot boast of a variety of infrastructure. Klong Son Village is a small, sleepy village. There are a couple of Seven-Eleven shops, a construction market and a couple of cement plants, but there are no large supermarkets. Unfortunately, if you want to bring traditional Thai souvenirs to your family, it is better to go south to White Sand - you will not find souvenir shops nearby.

Klong Son Beach abounds in unusual sights: if you want to have a not dull time, you should go here.
Only in the outskirts of Klong Son there are semi-legal cock-fighting. They are usually attended by locals, who breed roosters on their own - and argue, whose rooster is bigger and stronger. Not far from the coastline there is the Baan Kwan Chang elephant camp - the very first and best on the island. The camp is surrounded by jungle and fruit farms - for an hour on horseback on an elephant this is the most suitable place. Under the supervision of staff it is possible to even feed elephants.
Four hundred meters from the pier there is an active Chinese temple, dedicated to the patron spirit of Koh Chang island - the god-father of Chao Po. Decorated entirely in Chinese style, at first the small temple gradually grew thanks to tourists, who wanted to receive fortune-telling directly from the mouth of the god Chao Po.
There is also a golf course on the territory of one of the hotels, and beach cricket in the courtyard of a nearby bar. Everyone can find something to their taste on Klong Song.
To meet the spiritual needs of orthodox tourists, the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh, opened in 2015, works in the outskirts of the beach.
