Kantiang beach

Kantiang is a big well-developed beach in a semicircle bay of the same name surrounded by hills. It's located on the southwest coast of the island about 20 km away from the main pier and Saladan village.

Beach description

The shore, over 1 km in length, is covered in grainy light sand. The descent is smooth, the sea bottom is covered in sand and pebbles and the water is calm. Many plants grow around the beach, but it's hard to find natural shadow after noon. All hotels, restaurants, bars and massage parlours are located in the north of the beach. The southern part of Kantiang Bay is a great place for solitary relaxation.

The beach isn't crowded. Hotel guests stay in the special zones made just for them. Other visitors lay their towels on the sand. Some restaurants offer umbrellas and sunbeds for rent. No water equipment rental stores operate here. Not a lot of youth comes to Kantiang Bay as loud night parties are prohibited and there are no active leisure objects.

You can get to Kantiang Bay by boat to pier or by car or bike via the highway from Saladan. A pontoon pier for tourists is installed on the beach.

When is it better to go

The period from November to March is considered the high season in Thailand. Comfortable air temperature, as well as minimal rainfall create optimal conditions for a beach holiday.
