Beach description
The coastline is 200 meters long and 20 meters wide. The beach is covered in grainy white sand. Stones can be encountered in the northern part of the beach. Ao Hin Khok is a popular resort among tourists and travellers from all over the world.
The night life is active here, but it doesn't disrupt the calm atmosphere. Several restaurants, bars, pubs and currency exchange points operate on the coast. Establishments organize live music performances and hold Thai boxing competitions. A busy road is paved alongside the coast, with cheap hotels located behind it.
Statues of a mermaid and a prince from a Thai poem are installed on the east coast of the island. Ao Hin Khok is separated from other beaches by a "wall" of tall boulders. You can get to the resort by songteo, rented bike, taxi or on foot. Ferries also come to Koh Samet Island from the mainland.
When is it better to go
The period from November to March is considered the high season in Thailand. Comfortable air temperature, as well as minimal rainfall create optimal conditions for a beach holiday.
